ABOUT "TRUE WEST"Sam Shepard’s take on a modern, American Western traces the volatile relationship of Austin and Lee, estranged brothers who find themselves holed up together in their mother's well-kept suburban house with a typewriter, a set of golf clubs and the undeniable call of the desert.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCTIONOpen Sky's ground-breaking, prison based acting program offers incarcerated individuals the opportunity to exercise and cultivate individual faculties and facilities of communication, sensitivity, responsibility and effective, disciplined collaboration that will enable them to actively choose a more pro-social narrative for themselves and develop the skills they need to re-enter society.
Participants have spent more than a year studying under the leadership of acclaimed actor, and Open Sky Founder, Derek Lucci in preparation for this production, and have taken ownership of every aspect of this production: acting, building set, creating props and even designing their own poster. |
